Life through a Lens - Love at every click

I don’t just take photos. I see life in frames, find fun in focus, where moments come alive and memories never blur.

"Photography is the art of capturing the extraordinary in the ordinary, and ensuring that not a single moment slips away."

My love for photography is rooted in the joy of finding magic in the mundane.

I love clicking pictures of anything that catches my eye, whether it's the beauty of my mother's smile or the vibrant street life outside my child's school. A chance encounter with a dear friend, a street performer at the traffic signal, a family gathering in celebration, or a freshly bloomed flower in my garden, my eyes see every moment as a potential masterpiece.

Of course, my constant clicking often invites a fair share of sighs, smirks, and puzzled glances. People wonder why I’m so obsessed with what they see as 'oh, so ordinary'. But for me, it’s never just about the subject. It’s about the emotions I connect with, the silent stories each moment holds, and the memories that will one day whisper, “this was life.”

Seeing beyond the obvious has always been my second nature. I am often asked how I am enthused to tirelessly click the same things every day. The answer lies in my ability to see things through my heart and soul, rather than just my eyes. It is a veritable passion that I thoroughly enjoy. I connect with my 'objects of attention', encapsulate emotions, and use photography as a tool for self-expression. Whether it is my monthly rendezvous with the glorious full moon or a candid moment with a loved one, I see every click as a chance to tell a story and preserve a memory for posterity.

In today's world, photography has moved beyond traditional cameras to very 'smart' and slick phones that have become an integral part of our lives, and photography, a ubiquitous part of our daily experiences. Advancements in camera technology have brought the elusive 'rabbit on the moon' as close to us as the rabbits scurrying into their burrows in some rare patch of green in the concrete jungle we call our home!!

However, most of us tend to underestimate the power that a photograph carries. Photography is more than just clicking pictures. For the passionate, it’s a form of art and craft that captures moments, tells stories, and conveys emotions through a visual language. A photograph well taken, resonates profoundly, touching a chord, igniting many core memories and connecting us all in a meaningful way.

In a world filled with its diverse distractions constantly pulling us in different directions, photography urges us to hit the pause button on life's chaos, acknowledge and appreciate the beauty of things in our everyday world. It lets us express our feelings, explore our inner selves, and reflect on life's moments with purposeful insight.

While most of us may not realize it, there is an inherent pursuit of peace in the lenses of the ardent. This thought resonates with me deeply. Through the lens, we can discover a new way of seeing things, experience a sense of calm, clarity and contentment in the high stress world we live in.

In the end, it's not just about the photos we take, but about living every moment, mindfully, focussing on life's underlying beauty, the peace we find therein, the connections we forge along the journey, and the stories we tell without saying a word!

Here’s to pausing time, time and again, and capturing the magic, one click at a time.
